Data Driven Instruction II - Learning Community P

An important aspect of ensuring that Aurora Public Schools meets the needs of all students, teachers engage in a data driven assessment cycle in which we identify areas of need for our students. This process involves analyzing testing data to identify gaps, instructional methods that work and those that do not. Following this analysis teachers collaborate to create a two week "re-teach" during which gaps in instruction are specifically targeted by teachers across the learning community.
“If assessments define the ultimate goals, analysis identifies the strategy and tactics needed to get there. Be examining raw interim assessment data effectively, teachers and school leaders can systematically identify their students’ strengths and weaknesses and determine what specific steps they must take to achieve their goals.” Excerpt from Paul Bambrick-Santoyo Driven by Data pg. 41
