China - US Tensions could have spillover effect to Africa

The United States recently imposed a ban on sales by American companies to ZTE for seven years, saying the Chinese company had broken a settlement agreement with repeated false statements. China plays a major role financing and supplying telecom and ICT equipment to Africa, a precondition for eLearning. The two major Chinese players in this field are Huawei Technologies and ZTE. Angelo Coppola spoke to the South African Institute for International Affairs about the latest in this war of words
